Chlorinated Titanium Dioxide Export or Tax Reduction Policy Promotes Industry Transformation and Upgrading
According to the news, in the near future, the China Titanium Dioxide Industry Association organized a number of member companies to hold seminars to prepare for the later application to the competent authorities for tax refunds for chlorinated titanium dioxide. The chlorination process produces titanium dioxide as an international advanced technology. The implementation of the tax reduction policy will enhance the competitiveness of the domestic industry in the international market and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the industry.
Titanium dioxide production currently has two processes of sulfuric acid method and chlorination method. The chlorination method has the advantages of short process flow, high quality and small pollution emission, and has become the mainstream technology, with global production capacity accounting for more than 70%. Due to the high blockade and monopoly of chlorination technology by overseas chemical giants, China's chlorination capacity accounts for less than 10%. Chlorination companies face multiple difficulties such as large investment and long trial production period, and the pace of industrial upgrading is slow, and it is urgently needed to be guided by national policies.
Data show that in March 2016, China's titanium dioxide exports were 61,000 tons, up 36% from February, the highest export record for a single month in the past ten years, and Longyan exports 25,000 tons.
